| The 38 foot catamaran "Excess" leaves the
Royal Yacht Club of Tasmania at Hobart for its one month trip
to the Antarctic. |
The unique design of the beams
connecting the hulls and supporting the mast of
"Excess" make it a very strong but light
construction. Accommodation is in each of the two hulls with
the navigation area located in the starboard hull and the
galley in the port hull. Sleeping accommodation is in both
hulls. |
Terry Travers, editor of the Australian magazine
"Inside Multihulls" and Robin Chamberlin, the
designer/builder of "Excess" have travelled many
ocean miles together in this yacht. |
