in their adventure. |

Jeff and his team are great race supporters and ensure that
they maximise the race's spirit of goodwill, cameraderie and
adventure. While the runners will look for some personal
best times, overall "the race is about being part of a team". |

Design: Radford 14
Division: 1 - Main Racing
Crew: Nick Edmunds (16) sailor,

sailor,

Sidmouth Tas; David Wright
(16) runner, Bridgenorth Tas; Lloyd Febey (14) runner, Burnie

One of the most experienced teams in the race that also
can be relied to perform well. Retired last year to assist
another competitor Haphazard will be keen to ensure they
are well placed this year. They will be playing their race
experience against some stiff competition in this year's
race.

Design: 14.0m Chamberlin bridge deck catamaran
Division: 1 - Main Racing
Crew: Steven Toth (1), Huskisson NSW; Noel Elliot (0) sailor,
Cullburra NSW; Nash Stahner (0) sailor, Summerville Vic; Jacqui
Guy (7) runner, Hobar Tast; Jen Brown (0) runner, Hobart Tas.
A fast and comfortable vessel that has serious potential for
a top result although Steve's aim is principally to have a
good time.
While this is a fast yacht, the team will have a relatively
comfortable ride even if the going is tough. Steve will be
taking a documentary cameraman with him as far as Flinders
Island. |

Team 6: Brunetti
|
Design: 11.28 m sloop
Division: 2 - Cruising
Crew: Bob Tanner (0), sailor, Vic; Adam Manders (0) sailor,
Highett Vic; Robert van Aken (0) sailor, Prahan Vic; Warren
Holst (0) runner, Mornington Vic; Karl Strode-Penny (0) runner,
Hobart Tas.
This team's runners who have competed in many Australian
and overseas endurance events now add the sailing part to
their individual challenges. The sailors have had this event
on their agenda for some years and are now able to all be
together for their first Three Peaks Race. |

Team 7: Pippin
| Design: Farr 37
Division: 3 - Fully Crewed Racing
Crew: David Taylor (0), sailor, Sandy
Bay Tas; Graeme McKibben
(0) sailor, Blackmans Bay Tas; Vivian Parish (0) sailor,
Hobart Tas; Stuart Watson (0) Hobart Tas; Andrew Greene
(0)
sailor, Lenah Valley Tas; Mike Timperon (1) sailor, Howrah
Tas; Jane Crosswell (0) runner, Sandy Bay Tas; Dale Lancaster
(1) runner, Somerset Tas.
The Farr 37 is a good windward performer so while the sailors
will look for headwinds it will not please the runners. Jane
represented naming rights sponsor Hydro Tasmania during last
year's race has decided to take the extra step in involvement
to compete as a runner.
This team is expected to give a solid result through a consistent
performance on land and sea even though for most, it is their
first Three Peaks Race. |

Design: Robinson 12
Division: 3 - Fully Crewed Racing
Crew: Julian Robinson (1) sailor, Deviot Tas; Rodney Lockhart
(2) sailor, Gravelly Beach Tas; Patrick McKenna (1) sailor,
Newstead Tas; John Claridge (1) runner, Karoola Tas; Paul
Badcock (0) sailor, Riverside Tas; Chris Hills (0) runner,
Riverside Tas; Peter Martain (0) sailor, West Launceston
Tas.
Designed and built by the owner this yacht competed for
the first time last year. Julian and his crew won the prestigious
Rudder Cup in 2004 and will be a force to contend with in
the fully crewed race division. |

Design: 13.0m Adams monohull sloop
Division: 1 - Main Racing
Crew: Jason van Zetten (2) sailor, Launceston Tas; Mark
Koppleman (1) sailor, Cremorne Tas; Shayne Hansen (1) sailor,
Burnie
Tas; Tim Piper (1) runner, Launceston Tas; Patrick Mickan
(0) runner, Turramurra NSW.
With a strong running team and a fast yacht, Jason plans
an all out assault for a win. New recruit Patrick Mickan
comes with an excellence performance from a recent Cradle
Mountain run and will team well with Tim Piper. The sailing
crew achieved a good result in the last Sydney to Hobart
Yacht Race and from their experience in last year's Three
Peaks is looking to push the top fancied teams. |

Tliman Trophy entrant
Crew: Ben Fasnacht (4)
sailor/runner, Blackmans Bay; Angus Sprott (8)
sailor/runner, Margate Tas; Andrew Ostler (8)
sailor/runner; Howden Tas; Stuart Lawless (2)
sailor/runner, Bonnett Hill Tas; Adrian Young (0) runner.
Always an interesting team with the five crew running the
last mountain leg to maximise Tilman points. Some older crews
have beaten them for the Tilman Trophy but this team, in various
crew combinations, has won the coveted Tilman Trophy more than
any other team.
Tilman points have been gained through the teams raising
funds to donate to the Asian Tsunami disaster and the Cancer
Council Tasmania's Relay for Life.
The team says: The race "has all the challenges one could
ask for and which require crews to work together just to
have the fulfillment of reaching the finish". |

Crew: Peter Newman (1), Devonport Tas; Jamie Cooper (3)
sailor, Lilydale Tas; Don Kidd (0) sailor, Ulverstone Tas;
Allan Hood (0) runner, West Hobart Tas; Aubrey Hendricks

This team expects to put to good use the experience gained
from their first Three Peaks Race last year. Built by the
owner, Plan Four is another yacht that will give a comfortable
and quick trip to Hobart.

Another father/son combination that will put in a solid
performance. This team is looking to improve on last year's
performance when they were last but repeat the fun!

Team 13: City of West Tamar

Design: 11.8 m sloop
Division: 1 - Main Racing
Crew: Ross Clark (2) sailor, Exeter Tas; Nicholas Clark
(0) sailor/runner, Exeter Tas; Michael Smith (0) sailor,
Launceston Tas; Kelvyn Marshall (0) runner Vic; Mark Padgett
(1) runner, Summerhill Tas.
This will be the first race for Ross' new yacht that is
bigger and more comfortable that his previous yacht raced
some years ago.

good a challenge to pass up." |

14: Elite Renovations

Design: Chamberlin 9 catamaran
Division: 1 - Main Racing
Crew: Phillip Marshall (10), Devonport Tas; Steve Walker
(8), Wynyard Tas; Charlie Nolan (0), Mt Nelson Tas; Mark
Guy (7) runner, Hobart Tas; Paul McKenzie (5) runner, Launceston
Tas.
A very well sailed and fast catamaran that will push its
bigger rivals to the limit is again hoping for a win. Having
been in second place on a number of occasions they are looking
for their share of luck this year for a winning run. We can
be sure that the yacht will be fast on the water so long
as big headwinds are not experienced. The runners are likely
to post some of the best ruin times for the race. |
